Air terminal of the future - competition for students
Fentress Architects opened a competion regarding the air terminal of the future for students from anywhere in the world.
Between 1970 and 1980 the air terminal has transformed into a "boarding factory" and today single characteristic aspects of air travel gain the attention of planners and designers: design, technology, sustainability and air passenger comfort. These are the basic requisites for the conceptual proposals (registration by Oct 31st 2011, deadline by Dec 31st 2011).

TxP's scientific contribution is found in part IV dedicated at sustainable design in chapter: Communication Processes in Low Carbon Terminal Design and Management. Check Communication To Face The Green Challenge, by M.A. Esposito and I. Macchi. The volume gathers contributions to the state of the art of cooperative architectural design and applicable supportive technologies.
Visit of UNIFI students at the FLR construction site
Students of Florence University's (UNIFI) lecture on
Project management and technologies directed by Prof. M.A. Esposito visited the construction site of Florence's new airport terminal, which supporting structures have been completed in dry mounted steal. Representatives of site management and of the contracting technical office accompanied the students during their visit and illustrated the phases of construction.
SIACEN conference 2011
The 1st conference SIACEN 2011 on management, accreditation, certification, notification took place at Rome, Italy. The construction sector of the AICQ (Italian Association for Quality) promoted in this context an action day to study the new Italian regulations LL.PP. DPR 270 of 2010. TxP presented a project signed by M.A. Esposito on conceptual design development. Dokumentation is available at the site.
TxP at MADE Expo
The TxP research group will be present at MADE Expo at Milan, Italy, from February 3 to 6 2010 at the stand dedicated at copper, pav. 9 “Salone delle Coperture” (exhibition hall on roofing) and at the stands dedicated at Historical settlements (Borghi). At the Made Expo TxPs publication "Envelope's Details for the Green Airport Terminal" will be presented.

2° Best Terminal Envelope for the Green Terminal
The 2°edizion 2010 of the Planning competition for students of the Course of Architecture of the University of Florence is aimed to choose the best projects for the European regional terminal in Florence in accord to the environmental, energetic, safety, accessibility, maintenance and quality requisites.
The jury composed by operators and experts of sector is formed by M.A. Esposito (UNIFI), G.Giannobile (GESAP SpA), U.Preziosa (AdF SpA), M.Mottini (KME Spa), M.Vivio (ANCE).
Winning students for the best project of the Airport Terminal in Florence
Filippo Erasti with the project Baggage of Florence, Alexander Masini with the project The Greenway Airlines, Luca da Frassini with the project Mou-ver and Mirko Lepri with the project The New Florence Signature, have respectively been awarded the first one, second placement, third and quarter prize granted by KME SpA among the participants to the 2° Design Competition on Best Terminal Envelope Design for the Green Airport announced by the University of Florence within the quinquennial Course in Architecture that graduates the architects with the title recognized to European level.

Small scale big change
New York's MOMA is running the exhibition"Small Scale Big Change" about new architecture facing social problems such as schools, low cost residence buildings in developing and poor areas of the industrialized countries, alternative urban public transport infrastructure and urban betterment. Projects at different scale are targeted as well as prototypes of revolutionary methodological approaches to face these emerging problems within complex and conflictual realities.

Free of charge training on new UNI EN ISO 9001:2009
Aicq-Emilia Romagna organizes on November 26 2010 at the auditorium of the De Amicis School, via Galliera 74, Bologna, a training course free of charge on the new version of the UNI EN ISO 9001:2009 . The course focuses at the sustainable organization management based on measuring methods of the maturity levels reach by the organization in charge.
LEED Gold building
Avani Metha illustrated his residential renovating process at Kenilworth (Ill.) for the Leed gold certification during the visit of prof. M.A. Esposito Florence University, Italy, and Gwen Sommers Yant historian af the Cook County who described the betterment within the prosperous surrounding urban context risen at North Shore Chicago out of an initiative of Joseph Sears in 1889. The town is the only one developed as a planned community in the area. It is known for its extraordinary urban quality apart from its characteristic signed high standards architecture.
